Quote template

Make a quote for a client and download it as a PDF. The page is set to Quote: the title, the number and the labels change for you.

A quote is a price that you offer for a set job. It has an end date. When the client accepts, it can become your invoice.

Your quote stays in this browser. The page has no account and no watermark.

What a good quote has

A quote says what you will do, for what price, and until when the price is good. The page asks for each of these.

Add one line for each part of the job. Set the valid-until date. Write your terms, for example when you start and what is not in the price.

Add a deposit in percent. The page shows the deposit amount and the balance that is left.

How a client accepts

The quote has an acceptance block at the end: a name, a signature line and a date. The client can print the quote and sign it.

Or press Send for acceptance with Sign. The page saves the PDF and opens Sign in a new tab. Sign is a free tool of utilarium that adds signatures to a PDF.

The page sends nothing to Sign by itself. You choose the saved PDF there.

From quote to invoice

When the client says yes, press Turn into invoice. You get a new invoice with the next invoice number and today's date.

The lines stay the same. The deposit is noted in the notes of the invoice.

Questions

What is the difference between a quote and an invoice?

A quote is an offer of a price before the work. An invoice asks for payment after the work. A quote has a valid-until date. An invoice has a due date.

How do I add a deposit to a quote?

Type a percent in the Deposit box. The quote shows the deposit amount and the balance after the deposit. Both come from the total.

How does my client accept the quote?

The quote has a place for a name, a signature and a date. The client can print it and sign it. You can also send it for acceptance with Sign.

How do I send the quote with Sign?

Press Send for acceptance with Sign. The page saves the PDF on your device and opens Sign in a new tab. Choose the saved PDF there. The page sends nothing to Sign.

How do I turn the quote into an invoice?

Press Turn into invoice. The page makes an invoice with the next invoice number and today's date. It keeps your lines and notes the deposit.

How are quote numbers made?

Each type has its own numbers. Quotes go Q-0001, Q-0002 and so on. Invoices keep their own count. Click New quote to add one to the number.

Do you upload my quote?

No. The page makes the quote and the PDF on your device. Your draft stays in this browser. Read more about privacy.
